Who is a Great Lakes Granite customer?
We service both the wholesale and retail client.
A retail customer who visits one of our three showrooms must keep in mind the responsibilities he or she undertakes. Many details that a builder, or kitchen center generally handle are now your responsibility.
As for a wholesale customer you will need to contact us so we can explain the requirements necessary for becoming a Great Lakes wholesaler.
What is involved in the pricing of a countertop?
We charge by the square foot, which includes material, creating a template, cutting material to size with a pencil round edge detail, and complete installation. There is a menu of additional items that vary from home to home, which are individually priced.
Free quotes are available to all customers. You may fax, email or drop your layout off at one of our showrooms for a free no obligation quote.
Our pricing is extremely competitive with other solid surface materials. The bonus for you is...our material is a natural product, the real thing.
What is the purchasing procedure?
You begin by providing Great Lakes with a detailed layout of your kitchen. This layout will be the basis for the estimate that we provide. Every effort will be made to keep the estimate as close to the final price as possible. If the estimate meets with you approval and budget then the process continues.
Visit one of our showrooms where you can select the granite that is perfect for you project. Be prepared to spend a little time on this decision as we have 200 granite colors to chose from. Take time to make the correct choice; one that will best fit your project. When you select your granite and are ready to proceed, a 50% deposit is required.
When you have selected the granite of your choice, a date will be set for the onsite inspection, templating and measuring of your project. On the date agreed upon, our templating crew will meet you at the site to handle any last minute decisions or changes before your project is sent into production. It is extremely important that all sinks, faucets, and cook tops are on the site. These will be needed for the final installation process, which will be needed for final fitting. Our crew will take these items with them on completion of templating.
Be aware that your final price will be determined once we have field measured for the templates. At this point all charges and additions will be accounted for.
How do I care for my countertop?
Caring for your granite counter top is very simple. We have developed an easy to follow guide with all the instructions and care products that are available. You can find this information on this website or ask for one of our granite care brochures. We provide stone cleaning products that can be ordered from this site or picked up at our showroom.
Why choose Granite for a countertop?
At the top of the list is its extraordinary natural beauty. With the ability to choose from over 200 granite colors you are assured your countertop will be unique unto itself. Granite is, by far, the most durable of all surfaces used in counter top construction.
Hot pans can be placed on the surface without the worry of burning the surface. Granite can withstand up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures, and disperse the heat throughout its surface area. Most household knives can be used to cut meat and vegetables directly on the granite surface. With proper care granite surface are virtually stain proof.
Granite is the only choice for preparation surfaces for world famous chefs, bakers, pasta and candy makers. The cost of granite is not as nearly prohibitive as you may think. Why settle for less when you have the opportunity to choose the real thing at an affordable price?
Then the questions becomes, "Why not granite?"
What is a remnant?
In the process of fabricating hundreds of countertops over the course of a year we find ourselves with left over material. We call this material "remnants;" pieces of granite that are too small to use in the fabrication of counter tops. These pieces maybe small, but still are of the highest quality material with a unique individual beauty.
We cannot use remnants on other projects because of the characteristics of granite, where due to grain configuration and color variance, a match cannot be made. So we collect many remnants that are ideal for the use of finishing around a fireplace, creating that island in the kitchen, replacing the bath vanity, or creating a beautiful and unique cocktail or coffee table at a real bargain.
Stop by and pay us a visit at our main showroom in Comstock Park and check out or remnants. You will be glad that you did.
